Perfect doll-like girl!

She got new life after she became beautiful like a doll.

My name is Kim and I'm 23 years old.

The below picture is my before and after picture.

Why did i do plastic surgery?

And why did i choose TL Plastic Surgery?

I was not that ugly but i had big face.

I think my wide cheek bone, asymmetric jaw, and long chin made my face big. Before surgery, i always looked the webpage of different plastic surgery clinics.

What surgery did i undergo?

I had :

fat injection for my sunken forehead to give volume

cheekbone reduction for my wide cheek bone

jaw reduction for my wide and asymmetry jaw

chin surgery for my long chin

nose job revision since i didn't like my previous nose.

I was very afraid to have a bone surgery but i trusted the doctors in TL plastic surgery because i know the doctors are very experienced and they have in-house anesthesiologist.

AFTER SURGERY :

1 week after surgery

The swelling was a lot until the 3rd day and i wasn't able to talk properly.

So i didn't want to go out.

After 1 week, everything was easier.

After 2 weeks

Big swelling has gone.

It is easier to open my mouth. :)

After 1 month

I don't have any problem eating any food except something hard.

And my friends keep telling me that i got very pretty. X)

The numbness is disappearing and i can feel slowly.

That was only my concern for my bone surgery but now, i don't worry.

After 2 months

My chin got shorten and the wide cheekbone is gone. hehe

Is double jaw surgery the only solution for long face? by Dr.Kim,Ji-Myung

Everyone thinks balanced face looks good.

Beauty trend is different based on the generation and area. However, it ids proved by study and well-known that balanced and harmonious face is preferred anytime.

Facial bone decides the balance of face. Although a person with pretty eyes and nose, if the she/he has overbite chin / asymmetric jaw / too big jaw, we could not tell she/he is beautiful.

Golden ratio 1: 1: 1 from the hair line to eyebrow, eyebrow to nose tip, and nose tip to chin would be the most harmonious face.

1 : 1 : 0.8 is the golden ratio for baby face. Lastly, it is more preferred since the surgery for baby face is a trend. Short chin makes the lower face look inner than the mid face and it makes look younger. Everyone wants to be younger and especially Asians think a little bit short chin is more feminine face. This kind of people who has the golden ratio look still younger when they are old. 

Long face

Usually, if the face is long, the balance does not look good. Most of the people with long face has long chin. Their face look balanced in their childhood, but when they are growing, jawbone gets overgrow. And in this case, they gets asymmetry due to malocclusion tooth. Jaw is moving with two joint. If the length of the both side of jaw is asymmetry, the function of joint will get worse whenever they open their mouth.

Furthermore, asymmetry gets wore as the time goes by. Double jaw surgery is the solution to correct the problem.

Double jaw surgery is procedure to replace upper jaw and lower jaw to change the structure. Double jaw surgery is the most difficult surgery among all the plastic surgery procedures. It takes long time to do the surgery as well as recovery. However, It change the structure of the jaw therefore, surgery result is dramatic when the surgery is successful.

Shortening face length by Facial contouring surgery

If you have long face due to long jaw without dental bite problem, double jaw surgery will be too much only for it. In this case, "Bodylong jaw surgery" one of the facial contouring procedure could be a solution. 

Long and wide jaw looks masculine and old. Bodylong surgery can reduce the length and width of jaw. Body long surgery is very effective surgery with long cut from mandibular angle to chin area. This surgery is not double jaw surgery therefore, it is simpler and quicker recovery compared to double jaw surgery.

Usually it is possible to reduce 1 cm, although the maximum width to reduce is individually different. 1cm in face is very big amount. Just the nerve is in the jaw, so the cutting must avoid from the nerve and the nerve location is individually different. Even if the nerve is located upper area, cutting too much bone will be regrettable. Lower jaw is important role to chew food and it gets weak by aging. Therefore, the amount to reduce will be very important and it can be determined by doctor's experience.

There are many method of facial contouring surgery. Nowadays, the population getting facial contouring surgery is increasing since the awareness of plastic surgery is being positive compared to past. Many people visit the clinic to get a consultation to be more beautiful, to improve the appearance or the other personal reason.

the most popular are among the various bones constructing face is cheekbone (zygoma) and jaw (mandibular angle).  cheekbone and jaw are big and important bones to determine facial shape. Surely, face is constructed by muscle, nerves, blood vessel, fat, and so on. But the most effective part to make change on the facial shape is the bone.

Cheekbone determines the facial line of the mid face at front and jawbone determines jaw line at side. these lines make over all facial shape which is facial contour.

To be "Small and V-line (slim and smooth) face" the current beauty standard has few conditions. the width from the temple to the cheekbone should be almost similar. If the cheekbone is protruding, it does not make balance and the facial line is not smooth.

Some patients has prejudice by non-attributable idea about cheekbone reduction (zygoma reduction). Therefore, i hope people to understand easier and more correct about zygoma reduction by this article. 

Misconception about Zygoma reduction

1. Shaving the cheekbone?

Many people think zygoma reduction is shaving the cheekbone itself. Zygoma reduction is a procedure cutting the 2 part of the bone and pushing-in. This is a method pushing-in arch-shaped cheekbone toward to the empty space inner side of cheekbone to improve the protruding bone. The surgery method in the past was only pushing in the cheekbone but the latest surgery technique is pushing-in and rotating the bone at the same time that is more effective to reduce the cheekbone.

2. Sagging cheek after surgery

The most frequency question during the zygoma reduction consultation is sagging cheek. For cheekbone surgery, some part of skin need to be separated from the bone. And when the bone got smaller by reduction, if the skin cannot get smaller as much as the bone the remaining skin will be sagging. The possibility of sagging cheek will be depended on skin elasticity, age, and after care. However, the most effective method to prevent sagging cheek is minimizing the separated skin area for sure. Through the minimized incision inside of mouth without separating skin on the cheekbone, sagging cheek can be prevented.
